How it works
Get verified once. Stay verified.
Your business signs what it says about itself. We sign what we checked. Your domain points back to both. Here's every step, and what each one proves.
Applying
From application to listing, with no deadline at any step
-
Name your business
Its name, its domains and the phone numbers you publish.
-
Sign in with your FFN Pass
Your person pass, locked by your passkey. The registry learns only a private identifier for you, not your name.
-
Sign with your business key
Your FFN wallet makes a key for the business on your device and signs your profile. We receive signatures and the public key, never the private key.
-
Publish the binding
A small DID document on your site and a DNS record at your registrar. That's how your domain points back to your listing.
-
We check the facts
The state entity record, your domains and phones, then your license and insurance. A reviewer handles what can't be checked automatically.
-
You're listed
A public profile, signed credentials for each fact, and re-checks for as long as you're listed.
Levels
What each level needs
| Level | Needs | Shows people and agents |
|---|---|---|
| 1 · Registered | Active entity record, every domain bound, every phone confirmed | The business is real and these are its official channels |
| 2 · Licensed and insured | Level 1, an active contractor license under the verified legal name, and current insurance | It can legally do the work, and it's covered |
| 3 · Owner verified | Level 2, a representative verified with an FFN Pass and matched to the entity's officers, and a reviewer's sign-off | A verified person stands behind the listing |
On your public record
- Your business name and verified legal name
- Your domains, phone numbers and city
- Each fact with its source and the date it was checked
- Your license number, classes and expiry
- Your insurance carrier, coverage, limits and expiry
- That a person verified with an FFN Pass may act for the business
Kept private
- Your policy number and certificate of insurance
- Your representative's name, deleted from the review once it's decided
- Reviewer notes
- Your business key, which never leaves your wallet
After you're listed
- Re-checks run on their own. Domains daily, licenses weekly, the entity monthly and phones every 90 days. We email the business contact 30 days before a license or policy expires.
- Lapses are visible, and fixable. If a fact stops being true, it's suspended or withdrawn with a reason verifiers can read, and reinstated once it's fixed.
- New key, same listing. If you make a new business key, publish the new DID document and we reissue every credential for it and withdraw the old ones.
- Anyone can dispute a record. A reviewer looks at every dispute.
- You can leave anytime. Withdrawing revokes every credential and takes the public record down.
We never call to ask you to verify a listing, and we never ask for payment details by phone or email. Nobody from FFN will ever ask for your registrar login.
